Our Story

It all began with a gift…

It was a beautiful, hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind baby blanket, unlike anything you could find in a store. Someone had spent hours sewing a custom blanket for my baby shower, and I was blown away. I loved it! It became our go-to blanket for snuggles, tummy time, and stroller rides. It was there for naps in the rocking chair, spit ups, runny noses, and even for some awesome living room forts. As time passed, I treasured it even more, because it reminded me of memories made with my daughter during our sweet first year together. Then, one day it received a name. It had become "special blankie". She brought it everywhere and wouldn't sleep without it. At that point, it had become priceless.

A few years later, I realized it had a small tear, and I inspected it more closely to repair it. I thought to myself, "I wonder how hard it would be to make something like this?" The opportunity presented itself when I found out a good friend had a baby on the way. Inspired by the gift that I received, I went out on a limb and tried something new. I dusted off my sewing machine, and designed and assembled a baby blanket. It was NOT as easy as it had looked, and after hours of work, and using the stitch ripper again and again, I finally completed it. It wasn’t perfect by any means, and I had a lot of room to grow, but my friend loved it! After finishing that first project, I learned that I absolutely loved the process of choosing fabric, slicing, sewing, stitching... I was hooked. Friends continued having babies, and nearly 20 blankets later, I realized this was no longer just a hobby but a passion.

Mountain Mama Blanket Co was officially launched in January 2024. Each blanket is carefully hand-crafted with love in Granite Falls, Washington. We’re located at the gateway of the scenic Mountain Loop Highway, where the Cascade Mountains are on full display on a clear day. I am awestruck and continually inspired by God's gorgeous creation all around, hence the name. As a brand, Mountain Mama Blanket Co is passionate about creating products that create lasting memories. Over time, fabric may fade. The memories, however, last a lifetime.
